Sajjige ಸಜ್ಜಿಗೆ is the most simple, easy to make and very tasty sweet..
Be it a Festival, or for neivedya or any occasion or for that matter can be even served as breakfast along with Upma(uppittu). It can also be a snack to pack for kid’s box.
Needed Ingredients and method:-
Chiroti Rave ಚಿರೋಟಿ ರವೆ( SaNNa/small rave) – 1 cup
Water ನೀರು – 2.5 to 3 cups
Sugar ಸಕ್ಕರೆ – 1.5 cup
Ghee ತುಪ್ಪ – More than 1/2 cup
Dry Fruits ಒಣ ಹಣ್ಣುಗಳು- Cashew, Raisins fried in Ghee
Cardamom ಏಲಕ್ಕಿ- Grind in mixer/Mortar-Pestle/ simply kuttani in kannada with 1 spoon sugar
 Roast Rava till nice aroma comes with 1 table spoon ghee or slight color change to light pink. Ensure that it
won’t get burnt.
ಚಿರೋಟಿ ರವೆಯನ್ನು ಒಂದು ಚಮಚ ತುಪ್ಪದಲ್ಲಿ ಘಮ ಬರುವವರೆಗೆ ಹುರಿದುಕೊಳ್ಳಿ
 Boil 3 cups water, add roasted Rava, Stir very well so that it doesnt form any lumps
Stir continuously again and add Sugar, Remaining Ghee and stir very well, gently.
3 ಲೋಟ ನೀರು ಕುದಿಸಿ ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಹುರಿದ ರವೆ ಹಾಕಿ ಕಲಸಿ, ಉಳಿದ ತುಪ್ಪ ಹಾಕಿ ಕೆದಕಿ..
Lastly add cardamom and Dry fruits and serve..
[a] Some people mix Water and milk, this makes it rich and tastes different from the above.
[b] For the color one can add, Kesari/Saffron soaked in milk or edible food colors.
[c] We can also boil well separately riped banana (as in picture above) and Ananas/pineapple pieces and include that with
boiling water in Step 2 above..
