Remembering Shri DVG (ಡಿ ವಿ ಜಿ ಯವರನ್ನು ನೆನೆಯೋಣ)

Today let’s remember and pay homage to Shri D. V. Gundappa ( DVG), famous kannada philosopher and writer on his 130th birthday.. May his great words continue to guide us.. He is one of the great poets Karnataka has ever seen… He is also known as modern Sarvagna of Karnataka..

His famous literary work “Mankuthimmana Kagga”(Mankuthimma — This is the pen name of Shri DVG and the literal meaning is a dim-witted person..Teaching the common man the ultimate truths and realities of life and His writings guides common man..), has a verse that says..

Naguvu Sahajada Dharma; Nagisuvudu Paradharma|
Naguva KeLuta Naguvudu atishayada Dharma||
Naguva Nagisuva Nagisi Naguta BaaLuva varava|
mige Neenu BedikoLo – Mankuthimma||

 Translation is ::

Smile is a natural Dharma– It is the basic nature of human to be happy.

Making others smile is immaculate Dharma–  It is an exalted nature to make others happy

There is another supreme Dharma which is above these two, that is smiling by looking at others’ happiness/smile.

We must pray God, the almighty and all-merciful to get this as a boon..  That is to  lead our lives by smiling & by making others smile – is the only supreme gift that we can offer to almighty & mankind….

So, let’s pray, spread and live in happiness and so in supreme bliss…….. 😎
