Milk Pongal recipe (ಹಾಲಿನ ಪೊಂಗಲ್ ಮಾಡುವ ವಿಧಾನ)

Milk pongal ಹಾಲಿನ ಪೊಂಗಲ್ makes an excellent festive food.. Be for neivedya ನೈವೇದ್ಯಕ್ಕೆ or dessert after dinner/lunch , this can be easily prepared. I learnt this recipe from my grandmother ..

Ingredients::

Raw rice ಅಕ್ಕಿ – 100 grams
Moong dal ಹೆಸರು ಬೇಳೆ – 4 tbspns
Milk ಕಾಯಿಸಿದ ಹಾಲು – 2 cups
Jaggery ಬೆಲ್ಲ – half cup powdered
Cardamom powder ಏಲಕ್ಕಿ ಪುಡಿ– 2 tspns
Dry fruits ಒಣ ಹಣ್ಣುಗಳು — assorted nuts, raisins
Ghee ತುಪ್ಪ – 4 tbspns

Method::

First dry roast ( ಅಕ್ಕಿ ಹಾಗೂ ಬೇಳೆ ಬೆಚ್ಚಗೆ ಮಾಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳಿ)rice and dal for 2 minutes or until it’s slightly hot to touch..

Pressure cook rice , dal with milk for 3 whistles.. once done, pour this to a cooking vessel..

Add powdered jaggery and stir well.. Now add dry fruits fried in ghee and cardamom powder.. Keep stirring continuously .. Delicious and healthy pongal ready to serve.. 💐💐
