Radish Chutney Recipe (ಮೂಲಂಗಿ ಚಟ್ನಿ ಮಾಡುವ ವಿಧಾನ)

Radish or ಮೂಲಂಗಿ aids in digestion, rich in calcium, cures urinary infections and many more benefits..

We make radish sambar, radish paratha,radish kosambari or salad and this radish chutney.. If you are bored with normal coconut chutney, you can try this traditional chutney made using radish, once, and let me know your feedback !

This is also known as jajju moolangi ‘ಜಜ್ಜು ಮೂಲಂಗಿ’ -ಜಜ್ಜಿದ ಮೂಲಂಗಿ ಮಿಶ್ರಣ means ground paste of radish ..


Ingredients (ಬೇಕಾದ ಪದಾರ್ಥಗಳು):

Radish ಮೂಲಂಗಿ – 2 big sized or 3 small
Green chillies ಹಸಿ ಮೆಣಸಿನಕಾಯಿ- 3 to 4
Coriander leaves ಕೊತ್ತಂಬರಿ ಸೊಪ್ಪು- 2 sprigs
Coconut grated ಕಾಯಿ ತುರಿ – 4 sons
Jeerige or cumin seeds ಜೀರಿಗೆ- 1 tbspn
Pepper ಮೆಣಸು – 5 corns
Fried gram ಹುರಿಗಡಲೆ -2 tspns
Tamarind and jaggery ಹುಣಸೆ – ಬೆಲ್ಲ- 1 small piece each
Salt ಕಲ್ಲುಪ್ಪು


Method (ಮಾಡುವ ವಿಧಾನ):-

In a pan , pour 3 tspns oil and fry radish pieces, green chillies, coriander leaves , cumin, pepper for 5 minutes until it’s slightly hot to touch… Cool..

Grind the fried mixture with coconut grated,  salt,fried grams, little jaggery, tamarind to a coarse paste..

Now put seasoning ಒಗ್ಗರಣೆ (mustard seasoning) over the mixture and serve with dosa, or idli or chapati or even hot rice..
