Coriander Leaves Rice Bhath recipe (ಕೊತ್ತಂಬರಿ ಪಲಾವ್ ಮಾಡುವ ವಿಧಾನ)

For the working ladies or busy moms at home or bachelors, it’s everyday task to plan about what to cook for tiffin box /breakfast and dinner.. We make varieties of rice items for tiffin boxes..

In Bengalooru, in most of our homes we eat rice items (rice bhaths/flavoured rice or pulavs) for breakfast and dinner as well,though not everyday, when we get bored with Idlis, Dosas, Upmas, Avalakki/poha items.. One such variety rice item is coriander rice (ಕೊತ್ತಂಬರಿ ಸೊಪ್ಪಿನ ಅನ್ನ)..


ಬೇಕಾದ ಪದಾರ್ಥಗಳು/ Needed ingredients:-

Normal raw rice or Basmathi rice ಅಕ್ಕಿ- 1 cup soaked for 20 mins
Coriander leaves ಕೊತ್ತಂಬರಿ ಸೊಪ್ಪು – half the bunch
Green chillies ಹಸಿರು ಮೆಣಸಿನಕಾಯಿ – 4 to 5
Ginger ಶುಂಠಿ – one inch piece
Pepper ಕಾಳು ಮೆಣಸು – 4 corns
Cinnamon, cloves ಸ್ವಲ್ಪ ಚಕ್ಕೆ, ಲವಂಗ – half inch ಚಕ್ಕೆ, ೨ ಲವಂಗ
Jeera ಜೀರಿಗೆ – 1 tsp
Onion ಈರುಳ್ಳಿ- 1 chopped finely
Tomato ಟೊಮ್ಯಾಟೋ- 1 to 2 chopped finely

ಮಾಡುವ ವಿಧಾನ -Method :-

1. Grind coriander leaves, jeera, cinnamon, cloves, pepper,green chillis, ginger to a paste. ಕೊತ್ತಂಬರಿ ಸೊಪ್ಪು, ಶುಂಠಿ ,ಮೆಣಸು, ಚಕ್ಕೆ, ಲವಂಗ, ಹಸಿಮೆಣಸಿನಕಾಯಿ ರುಬ್ಬಿಕೊಳ್ಳಿ.

2.Pour 5 Tspns of oil to a cooker, finely chopped onions, tomatoes, fry well by adding a tspn of salt, ground paste, fry again.. ಈರುಳ್ಳಿ, ಟೊಮ್ಯಾಟೋ ಹುರಿದು, ರುಬ್ಬಿದ ಮಿಶ್ರಣ ಹಾಕಿ ಹುರಿಯಿರಿ.

3.Now put soaked rice ನೆನೆಸಿದ ಅಕ್ಕಿ ಹಾಕಿ and 2 cups water , close the lid and serve after 1 or 2 whistles..

Serve with raitha( ಮೊಸರು ಬಜ್ಜಿ ಜೊತೆ ಬಡಿಸಿ) of your choice..
