Ragi dose recipe – ರಾಗಿ ದೋಸೆ ಮಾಡುವ ವಿಧಾನ

Ragi is a grain which is rich in iron, calcium and high amount of dietary fibre- reduces cholesterol and controls diabetes.. In Karnataka, we make ragi mudde or ragi balls, ragi chapati, ragi rotti along with that ragi dose.. There is a proverb ರಾಗಿ ತಿಂದವನು ನಿರೋಗಿ ( whoever eats ragi, will be free from illnesses, holds good due to its numerous benefits)

I learnt this recipe from my mother in law.. Please give a try and let me know how it tastes..

Ingredients ಬೇಕಾದ ಸಾಮಗ್ರಿಗಳು

Ragi flour ರಾಗಿ ಹಿಟ್ಟು – 200 grams
Urad dal ಉದ್ದಿನ ಬೇಳೆ – 100 grams
Methi seeds ಮೆಂತ್ಯ- 1 tspn
Poha or avalakki ಗಟ್ಟಿ ಅವಲಕ್ಕಿ – 1 fistful

Method ಮಾಡುವ ವಿಧಾನ

Soak urad dal, methi , avalakki for 4 hours.. Grind it to a paste and add ragi flour, salt, little soda and sugar.. mix all well.. leave aside for 1 hour and make dosas..
ಉದ್ದಿನಬೇಳೆ, ಮೆಂತ್ಯ, ಅವಲಕ್ಕಿ 4 ಗಂಟೆಗಳ ಕಾಲ ನೆನೆಸಿಡಿ.. ಬಳಿಕ ರುಬ್ಬಿ, ರಾಗಿ ಹಿಟ್ಟು, ಉಪ್ಪು, ಅಡುಗೆ ಸೋಡಾ, ಸ್ವಲ್ಪ ನೀರು ಸೇರಿಸಿ ಕಲೆಸಿ.. 1 ಗಂಟೆ ಬಿಟ್ಟು ದೋಸೆ ಮಾಡಿ..ಪುದೀನಾ ಅಥವಾ ಕಾಯಿ ಚಟ್ನಿ ಜೊತೆ ಸವಿಯಿರಿ..

Serve with pudina or coconut chutney..
